Mavericks Travel Hockey/HSP
The EYHA Mavericks currently roster eight travel teams (Green and Blue 10U; Green, Blue, & White 12U; and Green, Blue, and High School Prep 14U).
For the 2023-24 season, of these eight teams, two teams won their league championships, and three brought home the silver!
PRACTICES
When are practices and how often are they?
Teams will practice at least twice a week. Times may vary depending on ice availability. Practices will typically be held at Easton, although this cannot always happen due to limited ice availability. EYHA teams have also been known to practice at Ice Works and Chiller North.
LEAGUES
There are two leagues that our travel teams could be a part of. In Central Ohio, the Metro Columbus Hockey League was founded a couple years ago, and many of our teams have participated in that league for the past two seasons. Alternately, some travel teams opt to participate in the Buckeye Hockey League.
Games
How many games will they play?
Number of games will vary depending on the league your team participates in and what tournaments they may enter.
A typical travel team will play between 50-60 games per season.
UNIFORMS
Travel players are expected to purchase white helmets and blue gloves. Mavericks bags, warm-up suits, and shells may be required at an additional cost.
TRAVEL HOCKEY TRYOUTS
1. During tryout sessions, parents will not be permitted in the rink area and must remain in the lobby.
2. On ice sessions will be run by a skills coach.
3. Players should be checked in no later than 30 minutes prior to their session. Players are expected to enter the ice on time.
4. Tryout fees must be paid online prior to the tryouts.
5. The tryout fee is to cover expenses and will not be applied to the players fees is accepted.
6. We aim to have players contacted within 24-72 hours to be offered a roster spot. If offered a spot, players must accept within 24 hours before they forfeit the postion.
7. Players accepting roster spots must pay a team deposit within one week of the team notification that the rosters have been posted.
2023-2024
Travel tryouts will occur 4/14- 4/24, 2024 for the 2024-25 season.
