EYHA Mavericks Select Hockey
What is Select Hockey?
Higher skilled players in House Hockey are encouraged to try out for Select Hockey. Players at this level are expected to have an above-average hockey skill though not quite ready for travel hockey. Select players must also be enrolled in house hockey.
Select team fees will be set by coaches and can vary, since it depends on amount of ice time, number of tournaments, etc. Typically these fees have ranged from $550-850 per child. Tournament locations also can vary widely though typical cities one might expect to travel to include Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Detroit, Louisville, Chicago, Buffalo, and Nashville. Select hockey tournaments often occur on Thanksgiving weekend, MLK weekend, President's Day weekend, and any weekend in March once house hockey is finished.

What aged players are appropriate for this program?
EYHA currently offers Select teams for 8U, 10U, and 12U.
When
What time of the year does this program run?
Select runs concurrently with the house season (typically Sept through March) although select may start a little earlier than house, when ice is more plentiful around the city.

For those of you selected to participate on one of our select teams, coaches will be reaching out soon with a registration link. After the $150 deposit has been paid, your name will be added to the roster, and you will have access to the team calendar. Also make sure to download the Crossbar app -- it is useful for the team chat and the schedule.
